Let’s Eat Balanced is an initiative by AHDB to encourage people to eat a balanced, healthy diet. This series, as part of a wider campaign, featured a partnership with Jake Fiennes , the conservation manager at Holkham Estate. He explains how a return to the past could help restore our soils and nature all whilst supporting environmentally friendlier farming practices.

The brief was simple - promote the great work that is happening in tandem with nature to encourage and nurture a thriving ecosystem in and around the Holkham Estate. The location provided stunning backdrops, Jake was an entertaining and engaging host and we captured some beautiful footage from a range of locations all within a day of filming.

Production

All the filming for this project was done on location, outdoors, in the countryside so that always poses a few challenges! We travelled light so that we would be nimble around the site and meant we could get closer to the animals without disturbing them.

Jake delivered his pieces-to-camera using an on-camera autocue system which meant we could ensure the messaging was all correct and compliant with strict ASA regulations. We also captured a range of B-roll of Jake and the estate team as well as the landscapes and animals within.

All content was filmed using our in-house Sony FX6 and FX3 cameras, all using G-master lenses. We had the FX6 mounted on a tripod with the autocue for the scripted sections while the FX3 was on a gimbal to get a range of dynamic, moving shots. The DJI Mini 3 drone was used to get some of the wider landscape shots and due to its inconspicuous size and low noise output, it meant there was minimal disruption to the wildlife. We hired some 400mm lenses to capture some lovely close up shots of various rare bird species that have recently returned to the area.

Post-Production

This was a lovely project to put together as the footage was all so varied and vibrant. We got to flex all our core skills on this one as well with the video, motion graphics and photography which always help create a cohesive style across a series.

The first stage was cutting the script and adding in some of Jake’s own comments to bring the voiceover to life. Topical b-roll was then added along with specific motion graphic call outs, and intro and outro sequence as well as adding production music to bring the whole series together.

Once we had the picture and format signed off we then produced all the different ratios of each for final distribution! Total time from start to finish of post-production was 6 weeks.

To date the videos have over 4 million views on Instagram!
